EB-5 Investor Visa -  BUYING  American  Citizenship

Tonight I went to a Republican Committee meeting because the issue of China, the foreign trade zone, EB-5's etc. was going to be an issue.  Governor Butch Otter sent a representative from Boise to speak to the group.

Fortunately they did allow questions and the guy was pretty well hammered.  In going through his talking points, he said that the EB-5 visa holder was not eligible for citizenship.  Which isn't true.

So... here I am.. it's almost 3:00 am and I'm finally posting this page with references.  Iturns out the USCIS did change their webpage so the reference to citizenship is no longer there explicitly.  It's implied by the process - but not directly stated.  No matter though.  I have lots of references - even from the EB-5 Regional Centers in Idaho.  And I'm capturing everything!   What I'm putting here tonight is just the beginning.  Tomorrow, I'll got get more.

The way the EB-5 program works is that for a $500k to $1 million, a foreigner can invest in the United States.  For his money, he gets a green card that is convertible to U.S. citizenship after 5 years.

Here is the State of Idaho, Project 60  -   EB-5 Immigrant Investment Regional Center webpage
